For the everyday sexy woman: Ella and Gabby at the 2013 GT Bank Lagos Fashion Week

For the everyday woman comes the new collection by Ella and Gabby presented at the 2013 GT Bank Lagos Fashion and Design week. Few designers have had such a seamless transition from one season to another and Ella and Gabby is definitely one of them. First to emerge was a perfectly tailored dress, purposefully designed to accentuate the curves of any woman. Each piece after that was indeed, sensual. Delicate chiffon in pretty green shades made for sinuous silhouettes that gently rustled as the models walked down the runway. Meanwhile, the peplum silhouette trend in the pieces they presented added a chic dimension to African fashion.

With each piece that Ella and Gabby presented, the seam work in themselves, alongside the gentle, airy, effortless,  swooshing shapes that those seam created was utterly beautiful to gaze at. The designer used a series of African prints in dresses in ways that elevated her designs from plain basic to intelligent style.

I especially loved this collection as a whole as it felt inherently feminine. The Ella and Gabby woman isn’t afraid to wear sexy dresses that accentuate her curves. It is a silhouette that many have experimented with, but few have the expertise to design with conviction as Ella and Gabby have done with this new collection.
