They are black and beautiful and representing Africa to the fullest on runways or magazine editorials. Yet, many people do not give them the respect that is due to them or feature them in posts they describe as “Model Life-This Week On Instagram. If you don’t believe me take a look at French Vogue here. So in my bid to celebrate my continent, to portray it’s people positively, welcome to one of my favorite posts of the week, designed to celebrate our very own beautiful models. Here are some pictures of African High Fashion Models, this week on Instagram.
From Nykhor’s return to South Sudan after being away for 16 years (another worthy post on it’s own) to Hereith Paul’s preparation for fashion week (with killer legs for days). Then there is the ever gorgeous Fatima Said in Central Park New York with her beautiful mom and cousin (she truly get’s it from her mama) and Grace Mahary’s chronicle of Eritrea is as beautiful as she is (another great post also of her beautiful country). As if that’s not enough, then there is the oh so gorgeous Malaika Firth on vacation in Kenya. This image of her at home is as flawless of the model herself (another great post to chronicle). It’s as if all the models are on vacation with beautiful pictures to show.
Then there is the ever gorgeous Imaan Hammam (i know I say that word alot, but these women are goregeous), yes she is beautiful and that hair, no words. Love this black and white image of her. This post concludes with the beautiful image of Ajak Deng on vacation in Jamaica with the backdrop of the sun setting. It is an amazing photo and one that ought to have been portrayed in anything fitting the description of a model’s life this week on instagram. But since they won’t do, since Vogue loves them some white models (did I say that out aloud, sorry), here is my take on model life, with African High Fashion Models, this week on Instagram.
