I must admit that I love beautiful African women and the color purple. Ethipoian beauty Liya Kebede is portraying the things I love to the fullest in this gorgeous picture of her taken last week at the Venice Film Festival. She is wearing an Alberta Ferretti silk tie and dye Maxi Dress with nude barely there makeup that allowed the dress’s violet-to-lavender dégradé stripes to stand front and center.
Vogue.com also had more behind the scene images of the model during her time at Venice. They noted that while in Venice, “the Ethiopian-born model and mother of two explored the city by water taxi, heading to a dress fitting before she stunned on the red carpet in a look by the Italian label. One thing we learned from her Venetian adventure? Whether she was sightseeing or posing for cameras, Kebede proved to be nothing short of bellissima.” I couldn’t agree more and to think that she is African, a model, designer, a wife and a mother of two, Bravo and boy do we African women need more role models like her.
