Meet Costello Tagliapietra’s New Collection (The Ones To Love)

It is surprising to hear people say that the Costello Tagliapietra’s new collection “make women feel beautiful” when in fact they don’t. Now, that’s not necessarily a bad thing when a woman is already, strong, elegant and confident on her own, with clothes, an after thought to her already stellar existence. Now when a designer makes clothes for this type of woman, clothes that are simple, but enable her personality to flourish, then it’s a winner. The new Costello Tagliapietra’s collection is a winner and for the right reasons too (not just “making a woman feel beautiful” as alluded by here). The actual mechanisms of designs-from the cut to the setting of seams particularly along the waistline was impeccable. What their clothes express is truly technical and beyond beautiful. It is far more subtle and sophisticated in the olive green silk jumpsuit for instance or the gold jersey dress with tonal grosgrain ribbon. Granted, not all the designs were a success (and it’s okay, life isn’t perfect after all), but I can’t help but constantly look at my favorite pieces from the collection (see below) especially the rich palette of deep colors used and oh so perfect tailoring. This was a provocative collection, full of little surprises that dazzled, like the way “the pleats on the front of a cocktail dress were made to lie flat, creating the subtlest detail.” The duo are truly great in creating designs and they have presented a strong collection that is timeless. So without further ado, Meet Costello Tagliapietra’s New Collection!
