The Best and Worst of L.A.M.B

The Best and Worst of L.A.M.B

I am all for clothes that make sense with hair pieces that are conversation starters, but when pieces put together do not provide direction, and even when they are not wholly designed, then we have a problem. L.A.M.B’s new collection is a problem and here is my honest opinion about the best and wost of L.A.M.B. I get it that Gwen Stefani is returning from a 3 year hiatus and she is into designing clothes that are in true rock and roll fashion, but this collection did not have a distinct narrative for me. Little by little, the collection when from adequate appeal to downright inadequate to the point that one is left to wonder what was she thinking with this grey and pink piece below.

Granted she matches to the beat of her own drum and I appreciate her nods to Africa or Jamaican dancehall vibe, but something worth doing is worth doing well and she should have spent some more time putting a great collection together. Not one to condemn always, there were key pieces I loved, like the African motifs on a drawstring halter dresses. While the collection may have stayed true to her laid-back, edgy, and cool Cali-girl sense of style — it did not make any bold statement with regards to her re-entry into fashion. Let’s hope this will change with her next appearance.
